Jordanian contractors to join Iraq reconstruction projects

Amman   saraha news  Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Al-Kesbi Tuesday held talks in Baghdad with Iraqi Minister of Reconstruction, Housing and Public Municipalities Nazin Wosu, during which they agreed that Jordanian contractors will join the reconstruction process in Iraq. The two sides tackled areas of joint cooperation between the two ministries and the private sector in both countries in the field of construction of roads, bridges, buildings, housing and sanitation. They said they agreed that Jordanian contractors will join their Iraqi counterparts in implementing Iraqi construction projects, encourage the Jordanian private sector to participate in them and increase governmental investments in housing and infrastructure projects, with a focus on roads. They said that a joint committee will be formed to put forth the work mechanism, follow up on all matters and offer consultancy. Al-Kesbi spoke about ways of enhancing the joint partnership and cooperation, stressing the deep relations between the two countries, which underline the keen interest of their leadership in continued cooperation and coordination in a manner to reflect on the interests of the two brotherly peoples. He said the Jordanian government is interested in development and construction projects in Iraq, commending the country s efforts to remove barriers facing Jordanian contractors and businessmen to access the Iraqi market. For her part, the Iraqi minister reiterated her country s interest in boosting the partnership with Jordan in the various fields, noting that Iraq is witnessing a big development movement.
